NO MORE

REV. 21.1-8

The phrase “No More” is seen 222 times in the Word of God. God uses it in Genesis 9:15  And I will remember my covenant, which is between me and you and every living creature of all flesh; and the waters shall no more become a flood to destroy all flesh.

We often use that phrase every day.

God again uses that little phrase to describe the future for the Christian.

I.                  NO MORE SIN [DEATH]. 21.4

A.    Death is a result of sin.

B.     If there were no sin in the Garden of Eden, there would be no death.

1.                  Romans 6:23  For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

2.                  Romans 5.12, 17-21

3.                  Genesis 2.17

C.    Death is first met head on in Genesis chapter 3 and continues for the next several chapters.

1.                  Gen. 3.3,4

2.                  Gen. 3.21 – The animal is slain for their sin.

3.                  Gen. 4.8 – Abel is murdered by his brother Cain.

4.                  Gen. 4.23 – Lamech kills

5.                  Gen. 5 – “and he died” – 7 times

6.                  Gen. 6.17

7.                  Gen. 7.22

8.                  Gen. 8.20

9.                  Gen. 9.5

II.              NO MORE SORROW.

A.    Sorrow is a part of the curse.

1.                  Gen. 3.16,17

2.                  Sorrows are visitors that come without invitation.

      Charles Haddon Spurgeon (1834-1892)

B.     Even Jesus was sorrowful.

1.                  Isaiah 53:3  He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were our faces from him; he was despised, and we esteemed him not.

C.    The cure for sorrow

1.                  Proverbs 15:13  A merry heart maketh a cheerful countenance: but by sorrow of the heart the spirit is broken.

2.                  2 Cor. 1.3-

3.                  John 14.1-6

D.    There is a day coming in which there is no more sorrow.

1.                  Isaiah 35:10  And the ransomed of the LORD shall return, and come to Zion with songs and everlasting joy upon their heads: they shall obtain joy and gladness, and sorrow and sighing shall flee away.

III.          NO MORE SOBBING.

A.    Crying comes as a result of many things, sadness, sorrow, pain, and death, even happiness.

1.                  David  wept over the death of his rebellious son, Absalom? 2 Samuel 18:33  And the king was much moved, and went up to the chamber over the gate, and wept: and as he went, thus he said, O my son Absalom, my son, my son Absalom! would God I had died for thee, O Absalom, my son, my son!

2.                  Abraham wept over Sarah’s death. Genesis 23:2  And Sarah died in Kirjatharba; the same is Hebron in the land of Canaan: and Abraham came to mourn for Sarah, and to weep for her.

3.                  Nehemiah wept when he heard the walls of Jerusalem were still in ruins (Nehemiah 1:4)

4.                  Eliphaz, Bildad, and Zophar wept when they saw the misery of Job (Job 2:12)

5.                  Peter  wept bitterly after denying Jesus. Matt. 26.75

6.                  “Jesus Wept” Matt. 11.35

7.                  Psalms 30:5  For his anger endureth but a moment; in his favour is life: weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning.

IV.           NO MORE SICKNESS

There are some that suffer greatly with infirmities, sickness, pain, death as a result of sickness.

Probably one of the most difficult questions believers are asked to answer is the "why" of the suffering; why do the believers suffer so much while ungodly sinners seem to escape unscathed in this life? Like Job, we sometimes cry out "My soul is poured upon me; the days of affliction have taken hold upon me. My bones are pierced in me in the night season; and my sinews take no rest" (Job 30:16,17).

A.    How many have had loved ones die?

B.     1 Cor. 15.51-

V.               NO MORE SATAN. REV. 20.10

A.    SATAN'S CHARACTER.

1.                  He is a liar (Jn. 8:44).

2.                  He is a murderer (Jn. 8:44).

3.                  He is proud (1 Ti. 3:6).

4.                  He is a deceiver and accuser (Re. 12:9,10).

5.                  He is a thief (Mt. 13:19).

6.                  He loves to destroy (1 Pe. 5:8).

NO MORE SIN

NO MORE SORROW

NO MORE SOBBING

NO MORE SICKNESS

NO MORE SATAN
