1 JOHN 5

THERE IS A LOT OF UNSURE AND UNSECURED THINGS TODAY.

THE WEATHER, GAS PRICES, THE STOCK MARKET, FOOD PRICES, ETC.

I.                  SAVED AND SURE. 1 JOHN 5.13

A.    Before salvation.

1.                  DEAD - Ephesians 2:1  And you hath he quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins;

2.                  CONDEMNED - John 3:18  He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.

3.                  WRATH OF GOD - John 3:36  He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.

4.                  SERVANT OF SIN - Romans 6:17  But God be thanked, that ye were the servants of sin, but ye have obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine which was delivered you.

5.                  LOST - Luke 19:10  For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost.

B.     After salvation.

1.                  JUSTIFIED - Romans 3:24  Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus:

2.                  WASHED - Revelation 1:5  And from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, and the first begotten of the dead, and the prince of the kings of the earth. Unto him that loved us, and washed us from our sins in his own blood,

3.                  RECORDED MY NAME - Revelation 21:27  And there shall in no wise enter into it any thing that defileth, neither whatsoever worketh abomination, or maketh a lie: but they which are written in the Lamb's book of life.

4.                  ADOPTED ME - Romans 8:14-15  For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God. For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father.

5.                  NEW CREATURE - 2 Corinthians 5:17  Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

II.              SEALED AND SECURE. EPH. 1.13

A.    Can I break the seal and be unsecured?

1.                  John 10:28-29  And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand. My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father's hand.

2.                  John 6:37  All that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out.

3.                  John 6:39  And this is the Father's will which hath sent me, that of all which he hath given me I should lose nothing, but should raise it up again at the last day.

4.                  John 5:24  Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.

5.                  Romans 8:38-39  For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

6.                  1 Peter 1:5  Who are kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.

7.                  Jude 1:24  Now unto him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy,

8.                  Philippians 1:6  Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ:

9.                  2 Timothy 1:12  For the which cause I also suffer these things: nevertheless I am not ashamed: for I know whom I have believed, and am persuaded that he is able to keep that which I have committed unto him against that day.
