WILL ANYTHING BE SCRUTINIZED AT THE JUDGMENT SEAT OF CHRIST?

2 PETER 3:1-18

As we are fast approaching the Rapture of the Christian, it is imperative to consider some things that are going to affect us in the near future.

  1. The Rapture will occur next.
  2. Then the Judgment seat of Christ will take place while we are in heaven.
  3. What happens at or how the judgment seat is conducted we don’t know.
  4. The bible does suggest some things that may be scrutinized when we are there.

THE JUDGMENT OF TRUE BELIEVERS

(1 Co. 3:11-15; 2 Co. 5:9-10; Ro. 14:10-12).

The Purpose of this judgment.

  • It is for Christians, not the unsaved (1 Co. 3:1,11-12).
  • It is to examine the believer's service, not to determine his salvation (1 Co. 3:8,10,13).

What Shall I Take?

Out of this world I shall never take

Things of gold and silver I make.

All that I cherish and hoard away,

After I leave, on this earth must stay.

Though I have toiled for a painting rare to hang on the wall,

I must leave it there;

Though I call it mine, and boast its worth,

I must give it up when I leave this earth.

All that I gather and all that I keep

I must leave behind when I fall asleep;

And I often wonder what I shall own

in that other life when I pass alone.

Shall the great Judge find when my task is through

that my spirit has gathered some riches, too?

Or shall at last be it mine to find

that all I worked for I left behind?

His Plan for Me

When I stand at the judgment seat of Christ,

And He shows me His plan for me,

The plan for my life as it might have been

Had He had His way, and I see

How I blocked Him here, and I checked Him there

And I would not yield my will--

Will there be grief in my Savior's eyes,

Grief, though He loves me still?

He would have me rich, and I stand there poor,

Stripped of all but His grace,

While memory runs like a hunted thing

Down the paths I cannot retrace.

Then my desolate heart will well-nigh break

With tears that I cannot shed;

I shall cover my face with my empty hands,

I shall bow my uncrowned head,

Lord, of the years that are left to me,

I give them to Thy hand;

Take me and break me, and mold me

To the pattern Thou has planned!
