5.                  Romans 8:6  For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.

6.                  Philippians 4:7  And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

7.                  Galatians 5:22  But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,

C.   Access by faith.

2.                  Obtained through faith. Hebrews 11:6  But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.

3.                  To obtain mercy and grace. Hebrews 4:16  Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.

D.           Rejoice in hope – HAPPINESS IN THIS LIFE.

Happy Verses

Psalms 128:1-2  Blessed is every one that feareth the LORD; that walketh in his ways. For thou shalt eat the labour of thine hands: happy shalt thou be, and it shall be well with thee.

Proverbs 16:20  He that handleth a matter wisely shall find good: and whoso trusteth in the LORD, happy is he.

John 17:13  And now come I to thee; and these things I speak in the world, that they might have my joy fulfilled in themselves.

Job 5:17  Behold, happy is the man whom God correcteth: therefore despise not thou the chastening of the Almighty:

II.              SECURITY AND ITS RESOURCES. ROM. 5:3,4

The security that we believers have is vital for this life. We have many things that are part of that security. Here is just a few.

A.   Glory in tribulation. (Rejoice?)

1.                  Rom. 8:17-through the rest of the chapter is a great help and hope.

2.                  Acts 5:41  And they departed from the presence of the council, rejoicing that they were counted worthy to suffer shame for his name.

3.                  2 Corinthians 12:9-10  And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ's sake: for when I am weak, then am I strong.

4.                  1 Peter 3:14  But and if ye suffer for righteousness' sake, happy are ye: and be not afraid of their terror, neither be troubled;
