I.       THE SAVIOR – WITHOUT HIM: JOHN 14.6

            A.        We can do nothing – John 15.15

            B.        We are weak – 2 Cor. 12.9,10

            C.        We will fail – 1 Cor. 15.57

            D.        We will have no peace - Phil. 4.7,John 14.27

            E.         We will have no joy – Phil. 4.4

            F.         We will have no eternal life – John 14.6

II.     THE SCRIPTURES – WITHOUT THEM: JOHN 14.10, 23

A.        There is no growth. Just as a child needs food and nourishment, so does a Christian.

C.        God’s Word is:

1.         Light - Psalms 119:130  The entrance of thy words giveth light; it giveth understanding unto the simple.

2.         Seed - Luke 8:11  Now the parable is this: The seed is the word of God.

3.         Bread - Deuteronomy 8:3  And he humbled thee, and suffered thee to hunger, and fed thee with manna, which thou knewest not, neither did thy fathers know; that he might make thee know that man doth not live by bread only, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of the LORD doth man live.

4.         Milk – 1 Peter 2.2

5.         More valuable than gold - Psalms 19:10  More to be desired are they than gold, yea, than much fine gold: sweeter also than honey and the honeycomb.

6.         Cleanses - Psalms 119:9 Wherewithal shall a young man cleanse his way? by taking heed thereto according to thy word.

7.         Sweeter than honey – Psalms 119:103  How sweet are thy words unto my taste! yea, sweeter than honey to my mouth!

8.         Pure - Psalms 12:6  The words of the LORD are pure words: as silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times.

9.         Sword - Ephesians 6:17  And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:

10.       Fire – Jeremiah 23:29  Is not my word like as a fire? saith the LORD; and like a hammer that breaketh the rock in pieces?

III.    THE SPIRIT OF GOD –

JOHN 14.17

            You can not live a spiritual life without the Spirit of God.

            A.        He empowers and fills us – Eph. 5.18-

B.        He helps our infirmities - Romans 8:26   Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.

C.        He convicts us. John 16:8  And when he is come, he will reprove the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment:

D.        He teaches us and comforts us. John 14.26

E.         He Regenerates – Titus 3.5
