Main Line Eruv
Eruv Precautions
· The routing on the map shown here is
approximate. When walking near the
eruv boundary, locate the eruv wires when possible and make sure you’re
within the boundary.
· There are some areas of the boundary that
require special precautions. See the Eruv
Guide for details.
· Avoid the shaded areas of the map. These
include a “karfeif” in the wooded area behind Lankenau hospital, and the
cemetery between Wynnewood Rd.
and Linwood Ave. in Ardmore.
· Do not
assume the eruv is up! Though the
eruv is rarely down, it is checked weekly and its status is recorded Friday
afternoon on the Eruv Hotline, 610-642-6444. If you plan on
carrying on Shabbos, make sure to call before Shabbos.
Eruv Guide
To make your life easier, we’ve written an Eruv Guide that you can download
as an Adobe Acrobat (.pdf) file.
This guide includes a more detailed map, as well pointers about the
boundary areas that require special precautions, and some halachic guidance
for using the eruv.
