The system works with the mash tun above the sparge tank.  The wort is pumped through the coils in the sparge tank and pumped back on top of the mash. The temperature is controlled by two Ronco temperature controllers. One is for the mash and the other for the sparge. The sparge tank/heat exchanger has a heating element mounted in the bottom to increase the heat. A float switch controls the level in the mash tun when sparging.

A sink was added to the room and was plumbed into the existing water system of the house.  A counterflow wort chiller was made with garden hose, copper pipe and solder.  Quick disconnects make the chiller and whole system fast to set up.
