Our brewing sytstem is a RIMS (Recirculation Infusion Mashing System) in which we brew 10 gallon all grain
batches. We use three converted kegs in which we mash, boil, and sparge. The RIMS runs on a heater made from 1.5"
copper tubing with an electric hot water heating element. The element is a 220v that runs on 120v to prevent the wort
from scorching. The heating element is controlled by a PID controller that can hit and hold all mashing temperatures. The
whole system is hooked up to a timer so that our hot liquor gets to temperature while we are sleeping or doing other things.
We use a March pump to keep the liquid recirculating through the grain and heater and finally to pump it to the boil
kettle. At this point the system operates on propane to hit and hold boiling temperatures.

After we are done boiling and adding our precious hops, we are ready to chill. We use a counterflow wort chiller
that we purchased. We built a stand for the chiller and hook it directly to the boil kettle and control the flow of hot wort
with a ball valve. The chiller drops the temperature from almost boiling to about 75 degrees as fast as the wort can
flow.
