"The poems in Signal from Draco move from, within, and beyond tradition; they can be as formal, gorgeously metrical as they can be slippery, playful (however dark) events not easily parsed. Always here is a war between inner and outer forces, and an absolutely unique sense of grace, poetic dexterity, humor in a maelstrom, which compels us to read and reread them. Mebane Robertson reinvents his multiplicitous 'mother tongue' again and again...."
