Who I Am And What I Do (in brief and impersonal detail)
I graduated from college with a degree in creative writing, after stints in other less amusing universities. I live in an eighty-year-old colonial
house in New Jersey with my wife, a lot of personal possessions, and a pet tarantula. My living is made by editing professionally
(in my opinion at least); perhaps you've heard of my magazine. Or perhaps not. I won't tell.
My first exposure to ambient music was Silent Records' very fine series of compilations, the From Here to Tranquility
series, back in 1994. To this day, I still pull out those classic compilations and listen to them with delight. Since discovering
those CDs at a backwater record shop in Pennsylvania during college, I've tirelessly explored the genre, finding excellent
music from all over the world. Ambient Review is my way of spreading the word about these remarkable artists, while serving
to help both new and seasoned listeners discover new and interesting music.
My other interests include: reading science fiction (favorites include Jack Vance, John Crowley, Gene Wolfe, Jonathan Carroll);
yoga; comic art and literature (I'm a big fan of classic DC and horror comics); and fiction writing.
