This book thing
This thing of Dawn's I have stolen ... well borrowed ... it has turned out to be one of the most useful tools in my teaching
ministry. I asked her about it and brought it into my office a year or two ago. It is a wonder.
It is a molded, clear,
plexiglas cookbook holder. The plexiglas is meant to cover the paper of the book to keep mixing and cooking splatter off the
pages. It is plastic, so it flexes with the size of the book inserted in it. It is rigid, so it holds the book upright. It
is clear, so it holds the pages flat while not obstructing the print.
I use this thing, this cookbook holder, to keep
a study resource open and available while I type, using both hands. It is odd how many methods have been tried to accomplish
this goal, unsuccessfully. Often the tools created do not hold the book in a stable way. They obstruct the print or damage
the binding. This thing is great and every pastor, professor, student or writer should own one.
Thanks to Dawn ...
she can have it back when she cooks, but it will be stored in my office.
