If you still are playing SWG, you must like being treated as a prison b1tch of Sony developers, give it up, the game was a good idea gone bad - the multiple revamps of the combat system were a clue .... RUN, RUN fast (picture Forrest Gump) even EQ2 is better than this PiTA!!!

Guides on Badges, Faction Point Gathering, and Resist Gear

Every day I keep seeing auctions for Aakuan rings on trade forums for 500k to 2 Million credits. 
 
This stuff is too easy to get to be paying such high prices.  You should be able to get a ring and a full set of the other Aakuan gear in 2 hours.  Read below to find out how to easily get your own.  Don't get ripped off by people marking up easily farmed goods!!!

How to get Resistance Gear (Aakuan Gear)

* Look for the Aakuan POI which is near Nashal on Talus or look for missions with the word Aakuan in the detailed title on Talus (the higher the mission the more mobs and chance of a resist gear drop. Ex. A large Aakuan Champion's Camp).
* Both methods are explained below

1. Aakuan Champions Cave near Nashal Talus (X: 5929, Y: 4641, also a POI )

2. Aakuan Champion missions (from any Talus mission terminal, described in detail below)

This is where you will find:

  • +5 ranged defense rings, +10 disease resist belts, +10 poison resist robes, +10 bleed resist shirts

    About the npcs:

    • They are all melee, all the time
    • The lower end ones (followers/keepers) have 15% resist to all
    • The mid-range to high-end ones (defenders, guardians, warders, named, and chumpion) have 25% resist to all and light armor so bring armor piercing stuff
    • They average 8-10k HAM but it seems more because of the armor if you do not use armor piercing weapons
    • They are very social and will typically come in 2+ groups
    • They are on a 1-hr respawn and there are roughly 30-45 mobs

    About the cave:

    • In the dungeon mobs will warp. Pets will warp. If something dissapears it went above ground so go up there to get your pet and/or the mob.
    • You can call pets, droids, etc. while in the cave.
    • Outside the cave you cannot and have to use tents. The cave counts as a building area so you have to move a ways off before you can set up a tent.

    The Alternative Camp to the Cave

    • You can also get the same loot from Aakuan champion missions from any Talus mission terminal (see the above guides). They are usually difficulty levels 34 to 46 and pay 6-10k. You will probably need to be grouped with at least one person, pet, droid, etc. to get these missions or at least the ones with a > number of spawns. Missions will yield loot at a lower rate since you only get 3-4 npcs a mission, unless you let them respawn and continually farm them.  Stick with it, it will take a little time for the stuff to drop.
    • If you do a /who and it says people are in shadowbrak ridge they are probably here so do missions and save yourself the hassle of fighting for hourly spawns.
    • Don't pay millions for Aakuan rings and gear when you can get them easily in a day yourself (with the rest of the more common gear to boot!!!).
    How to get Badges
    I thought about trying to write a guide on Acts and Badges but I thought why bother when Ibok of Bria has written/compiled a great guide to them all here.

    How to get Faction Points

    • Group with something (person, pet, droid, faction pet - the more higher level and number the better) while you get a mission to boost the missions level (and usually increase the number of mobs and the faction points they are worth).  
    • Even if the person you group with isn't going to accompany you on the mission grouping before you access the mission terminal boost the mission level.
    • Get 2 missions in the same direction as close to a mission terminal as possible.
    • There are 2 ways to get fast faction points on missions. 
      • One is to clear the mission, including the base, and then moving on to the second base. 
      • The second method is to leave the first base up after clearing the spawns and moving to the second mission to clear the spawns there as well. 
    • Depending on how fast you can blow bases should tell you which method is for you.
    • The real points in faction missions are in the base destruction and mission turnaround if you can clear it fast and get 2 more missions close to the terminal.
    • Bases you cleared the spawns at tend to dissapear after 3 clearings and/or an hour or so now.
