Professional piano instruction is offered for students of any level, ages 4 to adult. Lessons are available
in the City of Alexandria, Virginia (close to the King Street Metro) and in the Seven Corners area of Falls Church.
All lessons in Alexandria are private one-on-one instruction. In Falls Church only, group lessons are offered for beginners
ages 5-10. Rates for lessons vary according to the location and the legnth of the lesson.
It is the mission of the studio to educate all students, regardless of age or ability, so that they may experience
the fun and joy of making music and so that they may be prepared for a lifetime of critical listening and appreciation.
Students learn varied repertoire, which includes classical, jazz, and contemporary styles, and, over time, learn how these
genres fit together, both historically and musically. Students gain the necessary aural and technical skills to play
the piano in a sophisticated and credible manner, at any level of performance, from early elementary to advanced.
Music reading is a major part of any music education, and all students attain fluency in music reading. Students learn
to listen critically and to understand and identify differences in genres and time periods. Students will attain
an understanding of music as part of the Western cultural heritage, and of their place in the perpetuation of this part of
the culture. And most of all, the process of acquiring these skills will be fun and filled with the joy
of small successes!
