This is a Holton Collegiate "hatbox" French Horn made in 1931, which is right handed and has piston valves (but
no water keys). The mouthpipe, bell, and second valve slide all remove when the horn is returned to its case. Although it
has many characteristics of a mellophone, when assembled, it plays in French Horn octave F like any single horn, just in the
opposite hand!
