POETRY

Poetry says many things,

Some of them very true,

But poetry could ne’er express,

The love God has for you.

The words existing in the world,

Inadequately say,

How faithfully He guides our feet,

Along the narrow way.

Nor could our meager words express,

His patience when we fail,

Or how His mercy picks us up,

And helps us to prevail.

What words pray tell, could be brought forth,

Sufficient to declare,

His Father's love that knows and feels,

His children's every care.

So speech must always stand amazed,

Confounded and undone,

For finite words can ill describe,

The One who gave His Son.

But how resplendent will we sing,

With words no more our own,

In heavenly language to our King,

Forever 'round His throne.
