I've done a lot of shows recently in a compressed amount of time and I ended up leaving the last one with about 1 ounce of
reserve left after breakdown to drive home. It can take me a few days to see everything in perspective.
I was reminded that in only my second year of life as an artist (6 years ago), someone said that they had pulled one of
my images off of my website and used it as a screensaver. This year, at Paradise City, someone who bought a penguin print
said that she was going to use the image as a tattoo. Even with many years between these moments, I remain surprised and humbled
by the power my images have. It is an amazing thing to see people respond to my work and if I don't do shows, I don't get
a real sense of how much work is received. They're a lot of work - but each time, something amazing happens!
So, of course, here are some more!
CAMBRIDGE - Harvard Neighbors Gallery. I'm showing with two other excellent artists at the gallery in the heart of Harvard
University: Deborah Hull (landscapes), and Anne Hubbard (gouache on paper). Show dates are November 9th to December 17th.
The reception is NOVEMBER 12, 5:30-7:30.
HYDE PARK OPEN STUDIOS - December 5th and 6th - I'll be at the Menino Arts Center, 26 Central Avenue (right near Cleary
Square) http://www.hydeparkopenstudios.org/index.html
Finally, I've been accepted to this year's New England Watercolor Society Regional Show. One more acceptance and I can
apply to become a member of the New England Watercolor Society - this seems amazing to me! My work will be at the Art Complex
Museum in Duxbury from September 20th to January 17th. http://www.artcomplex.org/
