Alan Mandel

Alan lives in Geneva, NY, moving here from Long Island,
NY. He joined the band in 2003. Alan plays
any and all woodwinds – mainly alto saxophone, clarinet, and flute - with the band.
Alan owns and plays 91 woodwind instruments! Alan is a Music Professor
at Hobart/William Smith College and played with the Hal Hoffman Band on Long Island for twenty years before
moving here.

Amy has played alto saxophone with the band from the beginning. A
former Mathematics teacher, she now enjoys the job of full time Mommy for her beautiful girls. She is lucky enough to have her dad, Dick Drain, in the band – he’s
the best!

Frank Mochol
Lead Tenor, Sop Sax, Clar

Frank is one of our featured soloists.
He lives in Wayland and has played tenor saxophone with the band for most of the band's existence. He teaches science at Wayland-Cohocton Central Schools.

Mindy lives in Dundee and teaches
music in the Naples School District. She is a veteran of many bands and school pit orchestras.

Sherman Curry
Bari Sax, Alto, Clar
|
Sherman lives in North Chittenango, NY and has played baritone saxophone with the band since the fall of 1984. He is a medical technician for a traveling medical agency. Sherm has played with many big bands - he played with the Jack Rossi big band before joining the Southern Tier band, the RIT big band, the Greece Community Jazz Band, and the Greater Finger Lakes Jazz
Orchestra. He has traveled overseas and toured Europe with the American Winds big band.
