Geordie and Mac

I did not have to search hard for fun and character on this day - I had my son Geordie and his friend Mac. Friends since grade school - these college freshmen were eager for a fun ski odyssey. Their singing, trick skiing, equipment switching, racing and just generally hacking around brought many laughs. Just great fun and wonderful company.

On the way back from our last hill/mountain, just at dusk, we spotted a man commuting home to his apartment on a Segway – you know that new battery powered people mover. We followed the man and his cool toy up to his front door and kindly begged for a chance to ride it and to our VERY pleasant surprise; he let us take a spin around the parking lot. It was surprisingly easy to learn to control and the only sound is a quite hum of the electric motor. What a fitting way to end a terrific day with a couple of curious and open young men.
