| Marolyn - kinda chilly up here in New England - eh! |
Here, just miles away from Power Ridge, was a star-watchers dream. Frozen in life size fiberglass statues were the famous movie and music stars of decades ago. I also discovered a few life size models of barnyard and forest animals.
More questions than answers came to mind (a constant theme of this journey – more questions to ask) about the
demand for such gaudy but glorious figurines, about the owners interest in this “market niche” of junkyard notables
and of course – Why would you leave such shining stars in the stark open sunlight, and rain and snow (does this mean
that real stars endure all the naturally eroding of time)?
An what of all the other rusting, worn and
degrading junkyard articles for sale – wandering amongst these interesting but unattractive “collectables”
caused me to wonder just who would come here and buy this stuff? So many stories
to be told – a return visit we most definitely in order. I left Elvis and
Marilyn – the glamour of the salvage yard – and moved on to Power
Ridge to taste of their trails of flakes.
