| First run on beautifully groomed slopes - thanks guys. |
How do you measure friendliness and enthusiasm – is there a yardstick to apply to Jim in his operation of the T-bar just for
me as I arrived before the opening? Can you fill a measuring cup with the many
hellos and smiles I received in the warm and very cozy lodge (it helped that some of them saw me on TV the night before)? Can one read the upper scale of the pride-o-meter when they were talking about their
operations and even their brand new sign (see photo)! Oh - and how does one really
acknowledge the pure generosity of Skip who offered for us to follow him out through the confusing back roads to Farmington
and then his final send off at the filling station? The only measure is in the
warm feeling you get from visiting this small, not-for-profit ski area run by the Farmington Ski Club tucked away in the foothills
of Central Maine.
Thanks to you all for a great visit – my
sisters and I had a great time. OH – and I love that new sign – so
colorful.
This is the last mountain out of eight on this
memorable trip to Maine. What started with Lost Valley and what I believed would
be a great trip with one of my sisters turned into a little bit of heaven with all my sisters, my wife and two
sons and my father and Nancy – thanks again to all of you for a truly wonderful extended weekend.
