46 Killington, VT

I got my own tour guide for my half day at Killington – a regular at the Mountain and friend Bill.  There are many sides and sub-mountains to this ski area and I surely would have got lost on the 7 mountains and 200 trails without you Bill – thanks.  This is another large resort – some would say the most well know large resort in New England.  A great range of skiing – especially for the advanced and expert.  There were relatively fast lifts with some delays due to lines.  Bill and I took some great mogul runs that eventually pushed my leg muscles to their limit and I just had to quit and get on my way back home.

This was a long three days with seven challenging ski areas, meeting old and making new friends and just enjoying cool but not freezing March air.  Vermont is a delight to drive through with much of its area preserved due to the ever persistence of the environmental advocacy groups.  It represents a shining example among New England, and many other, states for stewardship of the forests, rivers, lakes and air – my hat is off to you all.
