|
| This is certainly one of the best views of all New England ski areas! |
Attitash Bear Peak, which I bypassed
earlier due to their power outage, was juiced up by time I returned from Bretton Woods.
This mountain had a great variety of skiing (from challenging to long and slow) and great snow surface (soft but not
too wet). I met up with Don, the Assistant Director of Lift Operations and an employee for 17 years. Don was very
friendly as were the two ticket ladies at the base of Bear Peak - they got a good chuckle out of my venture and had lots of
questions. A young man of about 17 was putting his boots on near where I was sitting and over heard the story of my
expedition. He gave a loud hurrah! All these friendly people gave me the needed boost to finish my goal of six
mountains for the day.
At the top of Attatish was a tall
observation tower (which I climbed in my boots, quite heavy by this time of the day) providing a great view of the White
Mountains and many of the ski areas I had skied that day. My back was tender
but still holding out - I bought my sew-on patch and was on to Cranmore.

| Thanks Don for keeping those lifts running so I could get my six ski areas today! |
