Can a musician have a personal life?
I have had the great good fortune to marry a fellow musician, so when
we don't see each other for weeks, at least we understand why. Renea Waligora and I were married July 29, 1989
(the day before my 30th birthday!), and our daughter Ayla Robin Dinda joined us on February 4, 2000. We live in Fitchburg,
MA and enjoy our life there very much. Our family includes Kiya, our Brittany. We also have a 1904 Steinway-D
piano, all nine feet of it! Together we like to garden, and we have vegetables, berry patches, a modest fruit orchard,
spring and summer bulbs and perennials, and our beloved rose garden. Some of our 45 roses are antiques; hybridized before
the 20th century. We also like to cook and spend a lot of time in our custom-built kitchen with its granite counters (Renea
designed it; in fact, she designed the entire house). Our gardens and solarium provide us with fresh herbs through four seasons. I like to read and enjoy a
quiet house, except when I am playing my classic pinball machines (Gottlieb's 1962 Tropic Isle, and Bally's 1977
Mata Hari).
