Birthing From Within childbirth classes differ from traditional classes in many ways. Although I do cover
basic anatomy and physiology of the birth process, as well as work on birth plans, my classes also cover birthing in awareness,
various pain coping skills (including breathing practices centered around the natural breathing you are more likely to see
associated with yoga classes), and challenging current beliefs surrounding birth and parenthood. My classes differ too,
in that we will work together to discover your needs around the area of birth. To help facilitate this, I encourage
group discussion and the use of Birth Art as a tool for releasing anxieties around birth and discovering your personal strengths.
These are the strengths you bring to your birth and may not be currently aware of.
My Class series is 6 classes long, each about 2 1/2 hour in length. I include a 270 page hardcover Pregnancy Journal
used for homework and recording everything learned through out your pregnancy, birth and early parenting experience.
As needed I can also offer a condensed 3 class refresher course. This is typically private as it allows us to focus
more on your specific needs. Because of this, the possible lessons learned from peer discussion is lost. But this
can be a beneficial format for some couples.
