| Shiyanne's Family Blessing the Tree |
We were amazed and touched by the turn out for the dedication on Shiyanne's birthday. There were more than 130
people in attendance. This number does not include people who did not know us, yet attended because they felt
the need or were simply curious.
And still many others have since disclosed that they were not in attendance because of scheduling conflicts, but wished
they were there. It is for this latter group of people that this page is being created.

After watching a video of the ceremony, I am in awe of the fact that there was a non-stop 10 minute procession of people
filling in dirt. As well as the kindness of one unknown man who cleaned the dedication stone of the dirt that was gathering
on it in the process.

The death of a child is such an earth shattering incident. One that shocks our senses to the core. But it
also brings out in us a need to help, to listen or to just be there and say I'm sorry.
Thank you to everyone who has helped, listened or simply said I'm sorry.
