AA1K is located on about 12 acres very close to the geographical center of
Delaware. In fact, the address is on Midstate Road. We are about 10 miles south of Dover Air Force Base, six miles from Delaware
Bay and 30 miles from the Atlantic Ocean.
The area is quite flat -- as the surveyor said, "We only have one contour line for the whole county."
Elevation is about 35 feet above sea level, and the terrain slopes to about 50 feet a few miles
to the west, and to sea level at the Delaware Bay about 6 miles to the east.
There are only a dozen or so houses within a half mile of us, with woodland and pastures taking
up most of the space. Some of this -- particularly toward Europe -- is in agricultural preservation and won't be developed.
Most of our property is woodland, a mix of hardwood and pine.
