Snow and Eleonor H. Norton's Tax Day
On February 11 Eleonor Holmes Norton, Congressional Delegate for D.C. sponored a Tax Day for Washington resdients. I
helped prepare returns along with many other IRS volunteers. Some volunteers from Baltimore could not make it due to the snow,
and they were sorely needed as the place was packed with people wanting their federal and D.C. returns prepared for free.
I personally prepared over 20 returns with Taxwise. I worked from 8:30am-nearly 8pm. That night we got 12 inches of snow....see

Our Wheaton VRPP/VITA site
My Wheaton Volunteer Income Tax Assistance ( or Volunteer Return Preparer Program if you want to use its new name) is
underway despite some certification obstacles we had to endure this filing season. Most of our site's preparers have
taken the test(s) and scored very well and we have been given 2 computers from IRS and a printer. On February 4,
we had succesfully e-filed over 20 federal and state returns .....not counting the nearly 30 additional federal and state
papers returns we have helped prepare...

Don Wilson Retires
Don Wilson retired effective February 3 after 32 years of IRS service. A party was thrown for him by Tricia Miller, Audrey
Chin and Anita Allen at the Nova Europa Restaurant in Silver Spring, Maryland. A photoshow of the retirement party can be
