The annual Fort Myer Vounteer Awards Luncheon of the USO of Metropolitan Washington was held at the Fort Myer dining facilty in Virginia. Participating in the luncheon were USO volunteers and staff from BWI Airport , Reagan National,  Fort Belvoir, Operations Care Package, Headquarters , Indian Head, Bellue Family Support Services, and other USO suppport volunteers. Our BWI bus was slightly delayed due to traffic, but we arrived about 1:00pm and missed none of the day's activies. See my photos and photoshow above and in several places on my web site.

On April 20, several dozen BWI USO volunteers and staff atended the annual Fort Meade Volunteer Recognition ceremony at Club Meade. Shauna Van Buren was there to accept the awards for the USO volunteers. Door prizes and some snack food was given out following the ceremony...click on my photo show link above and see photos from the ceremony on my picture page.

My VITA site had its final formal session last Wednesday; we have successful e-filed over 120 federal returns and state returns. And with the paper ones, we probably prepared about 200 returns for the season. Not a record for us, but since we have lost over half our preparers after the IRS certification procedures began last year, I consider our numbers pretty good. Hopefully we will do even more next year!
