More on Barbara
Barbara is doing much better today after her fourth operation on Jan 24. She is sitting up ( though with great
difficulty ) and as you can see finally is able to smile for the camera! We are in the process of looking for a rehab place
for her like Manor Care and of course a new doctor when she leaves Montgomery General! Thanks for your prayers...it
appears they are working!

Updates on Barbara and Brother's New Dog
Barbara thanks you all for your cards, letters, flowers and e-mails. She is depressed staying in her hospital bed for
so long and these little things cheer her up. She is able to walk a bit, but it is very painful on her legs which now are
swollen due to antibiotics. We have also received some nice tips from you all.. like Vitamin B Complex and certain
exercises for her to do. Keep them coming!

Barbara Better
Today, we had a bunch of snow and ice in the Rockville area and I did not venture out to the hospital. But I called Barbara
and she told me she was feeling better and actually was helped up to her feet....she was able to see the snow out the window
( and told me not to come)
Hopefully she will be out of the hospital in a week or so. Thanks so much for your cards, letters, e-mails, and flowers!!!
Barbara really really appreciates them.

Barbara Update
Barbara had a third operation today at Montgomery General Hospital. The operation was succcessful and she is in good
spirits, though very sore. The doctor says he thinks all the infection has been removed, though she probably will stay in
the hospital for a week of recuperation. Thanks to everyone for their cards, flowers, thoughts and prayers. Barbara missed
her dad's funeral, but the funeral home gave us a CD of the service and I took a few photos.

Update on Barbara
She had a second operation related to her infected cyst (inside rear end area) at Montgomery General Hospital last
night. The the doctor said this too was very successful...but there was a yeast infection. Her white blood count is still
too high and she is in a lot of pain (left side) but getting better. The doctor is still concerned her count has not
gone down faster. However, the CAT scan showed no blood clot, a fear the doc had. Dr Woodward ( her doc) siad he cleaned out
everything and it looks goo. My father, Betty, Barbara Elizabeth ( Brian's wife) , Kimberly and I have all been to see
her every day. But her mother can not drive from Baltimore and keeps vigil over her sick father. He is going into a nursing
home soon.

Barbara in MD Hospital
We have not posted any new photos to our site in a while. This is because Barbara is in Montgomery General
Hospital after a life threatening surgery from an infected cyst. She is OK now and likes the cards and flowers you have sent.
E-mail me at stevebarbara@verizon.net for further details. But see photo at right; she is improving every day and should come home soon!
