Johnson Retirement and More
Joyce Johnson had a retirement luncheon at the New Carrollton Federal Building on March 27. She was an Exam group manager
when I was a Revenue Agent in at the Landover MD POD --before we were disbanded in the early 1990's. She will
have another party at a later date. See photoshow link above. And in other news, Lillie Williams starred in another tax
phone call session on Channel 9 on March 28. See photos on this page.

Barbara is coming home!
On April 2, Barbara will leave Montgomery General Health Center where she has stayed for about 2 weeks for rehab. But
she has many more months to go before she can do hte Billy Goat Train again! In other news, Lillie Williams, a tax preparer
at my VITA site was on TV last Friday on Channel 9 answering tax questions with IRS media rep James Dupree. Good work, Lillie!

Barbara in Rehab again
On Friday, March 14, Barbara was transported to Montgomery Health Care Center in Montgomery Village MD ( near Lake Forest
Mall) for further rehab. She will probably be here for a week. She is in good spirits and has lost nearly 40 pounds since
her first surgery at the Only hospital in January! See photo above.

Barbara Back in hospital
On Sunday March 9, Barbara went back into Montgomery General Hospital due to a large blood clot in her left leg.
She is in room 429 by herself and is in relatively good spirits...mainly because she is hoping to be back home by the week-end.
She will then be taking coumadin pills and on a stricker diet. Hopefully she will not have to return to the hospital.

Barbara and VITA updates
Thank you all for your e-mails and phone calls about Barbara. She is porgressing nicely and even can walk with a cane
for a short distance now. I still have to change her bandages twice a day ( when the nurse does not come), but I am used to
it now. Also, therapist comes in several times a week to help her with the rehab. I have to juggle my VITA site, work, and
her care, but your caring has made it much easier. BTW our VITA site has successfully e-filed tax returns for over 110 taxpayers.
And I have even managed to help out at the USO twice since the medical problem started. Notice how much she have improved
in photo above!
