“Hail to the Deadskins”

Hail to the Deadskins,

No victory.

We can’t score touchdowns,

We just take the three!

Run or pass and score, we need a lot more,

Portis doesn’t practice ‘cause his foot’s sore.

Gripe on, gripe on ‘til Vin-ny’s gone

Shame in Wash-ing-ton

Boo, Boo, Boo!

Hail to the Deadskins,

No victory.

Let’s grab Dan Snyder

Hang him from a tree!

Prayers for the Dead
On June 22, there was horrific subway train crash near D.C. on the Washington Metro. Nine people died and over 70 were injured on the Red Line, a section of the subway system that I frequently use to go to downtown Washington. I had even traveled on that section of track the week before to go to an IRS sponored software conference. But that day I traveled by car to my regular work place in New Carrollton and was not near the crash. But for the ones that were not so lucky, we owe them ou prayers..

BWI Honor Flight
Barbara and I participated in an Honor Flight welcome to World War II veterans on Saturday June 13. Most of the vets served in the Navy on this flight but I did meet retired army vet who served in a tank unit under Patton. He had great admiration for the controversial general. The vets left BWI by bus and traveled to the WWII Memorial. My end photos of the WWII memorial in my photoshow were from several years ago, but all Honor Flight photos were taken at the Southwest terminal on June 13. Click on the link above to view the show.

the Passing of Ed Coates
After a long battle with heart disease, our good friend, James Edward Coates passed on June 3. I will not say that he lost the battle but that he won his battle because now he has no heart disease and is free from all pain. Thanks for your comments!
Barbara and I had a great time volunteering with the craft area and photography at the Deployed Family Fun Day at Ft Meade on May 30. And we enjoyed reading the comments you all sent in about our photos. Especially we enjoyed the comments of Brian Pampuro, AFC Work and Family Life Consultant iwth the Navy who wrote that he found the picture of the Mother Duck with the babies symbolic of the day. He noted that one parent having to take care fo the the crew in the absence of the other parent (Albeit the Daddy Duck was probably not too far away).
