Keep going west from the stone house and the trail follows a utility easement for 300-400 yards and then turns left into
the woods again. Right there one Sunday afternoon on my bike I came across this picture perfect six inch mushroom.
The dirt on its cap makes it look as if it had just pushed out of the earth.
A few minutes later I came across a group of 5 other riders headed back toward this mushroom and thought for certain
that one of them would crush this specimen. Happily, on my way back, it was still there, untouched, pretty as ever.
