PETERSHAM PARENT TEACHER GROUP

MINUTES FOR SEPTEMBER 29, 2009

In attendance: Jen Berry, Lisa Richardson, Barbie Downing and Kerri

Old Business

-- Treasurers – Jen and Lisa—it was voted to make it mandatory to have 2 signatures

                         on every check before it can be cashed.

--Yankee Candle fundraiser to be delivered to the school on Sept. 30^th – kids will go

    home with their stuff- bigger orders will be picked up between 4:30 and 6pm in the

    cafeteria.

-- Need to order more notepads (how many?) – Lisa will look into this

-- Holiday Bazaar- the following numbers of items need to be purchased for each

          group:

                    Women – 200

                     Men – 100 – 150

                     Kids – 250

                     Pets - 150

   -- We already have an abundance of the following items:

            Women – bath sponges, picture frames, stationary kits

            Men – picture frames

            Kids – footballs, Frisbees, boys fleece gloves, storybooks, spiderman

                         puzzles, bags of plastic bugs

  -- We need to reconfirm who is buying what?

            Jen – men

            Barbie – kids & pets

            Suzanne - women

                           Nancy – kids & men

     -- PTG packet – Lisa

     -- Directory – Kerri is now in charge

     -- Box Tops – Lisa & Suzanne- first contest will end on Oct. 23^rd

     -- Snow chain- Phil Teece suggested a company that could set up an automated

              snow chain for pennies..

              PTG determined PCS was not ready to do this now—would require

              getting the consent of all of the parents for us to give their info to an

              outside company.  Jen will get more info on this to maybe think about it

              for next year?

-- Movie night postponed until the spring

-- Bake Sale alternatives

          -- Penny drive – winning class wins back their pennies

          -- Square One Art – it was agreed that it was a good idea and would sell with

                                           no problem.  Question is whether we need to raise more

                                           money and whether people would want to spend more

                                           money on another fundraiser.

-- YMCA family swim- talk about this after the Holiday Bazaar

-- Barbie will post the minutes of each meeting on the bulletin board and will

    e-mail them to Lisa and Kate Arsenault so that they can be posted on the school

    website.

New Business

-- Budget? – where and what do we want to spend the money on?  How much do we

                     need to raise?

--Family dance- Feb or March?

-- T-shirts and sweatshirts

          -- agreed on the maroon and gold colors and older style writing

          -- need a graphic

          -- prices on zip hooded and crew neck sweatshirts

          -- get a sample and display it at the school.

-- Shark tickets – check special days in Feb & March.  Check for baseball team also.

                             Jen will call them.

-- Campbell soup label drive – Tracy Thompson?

-- Replacement of see saws – Lisa to talk to Rebecca Phillips as to why they are

           missing from the playground and what the cost would be to replace them.

Next Meeting October 14^th @ 7:00 pm
