Term 2 has begun!
The new term and started . . . hard to believe.  This past week, the new students were introduced to the class--rules, expectations, procedures, etc.  They created a name tent that they will place on top of their computers each day and began working with the keyboarding program Type to Learn.

Our first lessons will revolve around the parts of the computer.  Students will be able to see a computer that has been pulled apart and will actually be able to hold a memory card, processor, hard drive, etc.  They will then create a mini-poster on the computer that depicts the various parts of the computer.

This term's work will revolve around MS Word.  Students will learn how to efficiently use Word's toolbars and various shortcuts.  Students will also learn how to effectively search the Internet, copy images from a web page and correctly cite the images.

As always, students will also work on developing proper keyboarding skills.  If your child is using the computer at home, encourage them to use "proper technique" while they're doing so!
