The goal of this class is for students to master the technology standards set forth by
the Massachusetts Department of Education.
I have attached a sheet that outlines the technology
standards that will be covered during the first term of class.
The grade is
based on a 4-point scale:
|
4 points |
Excellent |
|
3 points |
Good |
|
2 points |
Needs Work |
|
1 point |
Poor |
|
0 points |
No attempt |
At the beginning
of the term, students will receive a copy of the Standards Mastery Sheet. As
assignments are graded and returned, students will be required to record their grades on this sheet so they can see which
skills they have mastered and which skills they need to continuing working on.
Revising
Assignments
As mastery of
each standard is the goal of this class, students are expected to revise their assignments as many times as is necessary for
them to master the standard.
In order for
a student to submit a revision they must:
· staple the revision on top of the
original version—pages must be stapled neatly in the upper left-hand corner of the page
· write their name and class in the upper right-hand corner of the page
Enrichment
The last class
of the week with be Entrichment Day. Students will be able to utilize this time to complete any incomplete assignments
or make revisions to their work. I will also provide extra assignments that are more difficult than the regular classroom
assignments. Students are welcome to submit the extra assignments after they have mastered all of their regular assignments (meaning they received a 4 on all of their assignments).
In addition, students can utilize this time to continue to work on their keyboarding skills through Type to Learn
or some of the keyboarding sites that I have approved.
