What does the Kemp Mill PTA do?

  • Provides financial and volunteer support and advocacy to teachers, administrators, and parents in their joint effort to enrich the educational experience at Kemp Mill.
  • Offers fun and educational programs to students including Group piano lessons and Hands On Science (we organize; money is available for students who can't afford it!), Destination Imagination (coming this year), Reflections (an award-winning arts program coming this year
  • Offers opportunities to socialize and share ideas with others in the Kemp Mill school community with events such as the Fall Festival, the free-for-our-children Holiday Workshop, Ice Cream and Bingo Socials, International Night, Staff Appreciation week events, and much more!
  • Holds monthly and ad-hoc meetings and programs to educate parents and teachers on upcoming school and community issues and events including informative updates from Nancy Evans, our principal.  She attends virtually every PTA event, including meetings.  ALL PARENTS WELCOME!!
  • Provides an all-inclusive place for parents to be themselves and have fun with their children.


Mission of the PTA

*To support and speak on behalf of children and youth in the schools, in the community,*and before governmental bodies and other organizations that make decisions affecting children;
*To assist parents in developing the skills they need to raise and protect their children;
*To encourage parent and public involvement in the public schools of this nation.
 

Purposes of the PTA

*To promote the welfare of the children and youth in home, school, community, and place of worship.
*To raise the standards of home life.
*To secure adequate laws for the care and protection of children and youth.
*To bring into closer relation the home and the school, that parents and teachers may cooperate intelligently in the education of children and youth.
*To develop between educators and the general public such united efforts as will secure for all children and youth the highest advantages in physical, mental, social, and spiritual education.
