Hainesport Athletic Club has it's roots in a primitive soccer activity in the Hainesport Chase development. No one knows exactly, but some time in 1996, somebody had the idea to give soccer a try after a few weekends of American football. Every Sunday morning, a bunch of bleary eyed guys would make the trek to the tennis courts. There they would take down the tennis nets and set up the hockey nets. With chain link fencing and tennis support poles protruding from the ground, the Hainesport Chasers was formed. The games were very spirited and soccer talent was optional. After 4 years, enthusiasm for the outdoor game began to wane. As luck would have it, a brand new indoor facility was opening up and the Chasers decide to give it a try. After a sound beating and some suttle roster moves, Hainesport United started improving their game. Finally a sponsor by the name of Corollos came along and provided us with a new identity, and more importantly, provided a location for us to talk about all the great things we did on the field that night. On one particular evening, our spiritual leader, Billy Ray Fischer came up with the idea of forming an outdoor team and the rest is history.
