Holy Cross wrestling had its debut in the Fall of 1972.  Coach Vinny Caruso had a vision. That was to bring a wrestling program to Holy Cross.  Coach Caruso started with a Freshmen team only. Pat Wallace and Mike LeMunyon were just a couple of the early standouts. The following year saw the program expand to varsity and jv.  As most inaugural programs so often do, it wasn't pretty.  Losses to Pemberton 70-0 and Moorestown 69-0 were considered minor setbacks. HC had a grand total of 5 matches that year including a close loss (by the team's standards) to Bristol. The following year the team went on to record their first wins. Most notably, a hard fought win over Florence. As the years progressed, the HCHS wrestling team started to produce some incredibly talented athletes.  The Kuzy brothers each received gold in the state tournaments during their tenure at Holy Cross. Dennis Landolt and Adam Cooney later went on to climb the top of the podium in the elite tournament.  Although these men stand out in time, and rightly so, there were a lot of other students throughout the years who proudly took their place as outstanding wrestlers.  The list is almost too numerous to mention. However, it is my hope to get feedback from anyone out there who can provide me with information concerning your favorite wrestlers. I know there are other people who placed in states, regionals, and districts.  I would like to set up a page of honor for these outstanding wrestlers. Please see the "contact us" page to send your comments. Pictures are always welcome.
