Bulletin Announcements:

  • Hymn of Response to the Benediction:
    Morning Service--

Now, blessed be the Lord our God, the God of Israel,
For he alone doth wondrous works in glory that excel.
And blessed be his glorious name to all eternity
The whole earth let his glory fill. Amen, so let it be. Amen.

  • The Bible Study will continue with Ezekiel 16 on Wednesday at 7:00 PM.
  • The current Adult Sunday School Class is a study of the World Wide Outreach program of the OPC. We hope to grow in our understanding of the ways we seek to obey our Lord’s Great Commission as a denomination and find ways we can participate in this great work on a personal level. There will be various guest speakers included in our lineup of teachers. Please join us next Sunday at 9 AM in the fellowship hall.
  • Advice from J.I. Packer on dealing with remaining sin: What to do? Here was John Owen's answer, in essence: Have the holiness of God clear in your mind. Remember that sin desensitizes you to itself. Watch — that is, prepare to recognize it, and search it out within you by disciplined, Bible-based, Spirit-led self-examination. Focus on the living Christ and his love for you on the cross. Pray, asking for strength to say 'no' to sin's suggestions and to fortify yourself against bad habits by forming good ones contrary to them. And ask Christ to kill the sinful urge you are fighting, as the theophanic angel in C. S. Lewis's Great Divorce tells the man with the lizard to do.
  • Next week we will welcome into Sunday School and into the Pulpit, Pastor Stephen S. Payson from Providence OPC in Mifflinburg. He will be teaching on Home Missions in Sunday School.
  • Next week is also Communion Sunday. Please see the bulleting insert for more information. Note please that homebound communion will not be served next Sunday. Pastor Fox will make arrangements to serve it another day.
