MIDDLESEX COUNTY
PRISON COORDINATING COMMITTEE NEWSLETTER
MCPCC met on March 10, 2004 in West
Newton. Mary Ann Donaldson,
Beverly Wilkins, Tom Crowther, Judy
Lustig, Joanne Glover, Bill
Bergquist, and Marjorie Moerschner were
present.
We’re glad to hear that Elizabeth
Woodbridge is doing better
after a knee replacement and its painful
aftermath.
Tom gave the treasurer's report.
Beverly reported that Jim Cain has retired
and we wish him all
the best.
Carol Peters will have two Houses of
Healing courses running next
term due to popular demand. The classes
have to be kept fairly
small, but men who didn't get into an
upcoming class are given
Houses of Healing books to study on their
own.
Carol Peters also wants to start an
alternative to violence
course at Billerica.
We voted to renew our membership in the
Criminal Justice Policy
Coalition.
We have received a generous donation from
the United Methodist
Church of Newtonville. Many thanks!
We want to thank Suzanne Rudalevige and
the Robertsons for recent
generous donations. The Robertsons also
included a donation from
a state prison inmate and asked us to
offer a prayer for him
which we will do.
All these gifts are much appreciated and
are very heartwarming.
Attorney Lee Gartenburg will speak at our
next meeting. This
will be an interesting and informative
evening. Please come!
