I need to talk to You today, My daddy won't let me go out and play, I tried to tell Mommy, but she don't listen to me: God, I need your help; This is my final plea!

I hate when it gets late at night, That is when I always have to fight. He comes into my room you see, So that he can play with me, It hurts so bad until I want to cry, I wish I could just bid this world good-bye!

Mommy told me there were Angels up there, So please send one so I won't be scared. Let the Angel come my way, Then I can go to Heaven and play.

I'll wait as long as you want me to, But please, dear God, help me through: The pain and tears will all go away, When I get to Heaven to stay, If you aren't ready for me to come home, Then help My Mommy to see that Daddy don't roam. Amen

Too many people have remained silent for far too long!

Assaults against our children, especially at the hands of a relative or someone else with whom they are familiar and trusting, leave scars they carry with them throughout the remainder of their lives. They may become active Christians or go through extensive counseling, yet the memories remain...memories which must be battled against forever. They can forgive, but not forget! The best cure is one of prevention. However, if you know of a child who is already being abused, be it physically or sexually, and you do not raise your voice in protest, are you then any less guilty than the perpetrator of this crime?

I especially address you ladies who find yourselves in a relationship where your child is being repeatedly attacked. Let me assure you that no man is worth "loving" who could do such a thing. You are being brainwashed into believing there is no solution, and no better way for you and your child. You are VERY WRONG!! This is not true love, and there is a way of escape if you will reach out for the help. Are you willing to sacrifice your precious child, your own flesh and blood, for what one depraved person is telling you is your only option in life?

Let's consider the very worst scenario for yourself here. I am all-too-aware that the process of escaping from this sort of person is often extremely dangerous...and that danger often follows you for a very long time. However, I would ask you again, "Is your own preservation more important than that of your child?" It could literally become a choice between yourself and your child. Would you be willing to lay down your own life to save that of your baby? I know the answer to that would be a resounding "YES!" if the enemy attacking was some deadly disease. In that case, the choice of sacrificing some essential part of yourself to spare the child further suffering would take you no more than a moment's deliberation. Why, then, should it be any different in the case of assault or abuse? Is your child's suffering somehow less painful in this case than it would be in the face of illness or death? How many times too often do we hear the news about another precious life that has been unjustly ended at the hands of some brutal tormenter. How many more "silent sufferers" stumble through the years, and on into an emotionally confused and/or addicted adult lifestyle, with such a burden buried deep within them. Is this the sentence of doom you will allow to be imposed on your innocent offspring?

This "Take A Stand" quilt represents others who are available to help or refer you to those who can offer you help out of your seemingly-hopeless situation, as well as direction for guiding your child toward his/her only hope of a "normal" adult life. Left alone, you can be assured that your son, your daughter, will face many issues that will end in their making terribly wrong choices--and your support of their assailant (which is how they perceive your lack of action against that vile criminal) will come home to roost on your doorstep much sooner than you would ever dream or expect!
