Slippery Rock- Ralph Allison McBride, 86,
of West Cooper Street,
died at 1:05 a.m.
April 21, 1983, in United Community
Hospital, Grove City, after a brief illness.
He was born in Worth Twp., Butler Co.,
on Jan. 30, 1897, to Edward A. andLydia
Ada Allison McBride. He was married to
the former Margaret Eleanor Book on
August 10, 1920.
Mr. McBride was a president emeritus
at First National Bank in Slippery Rock.
He was employed by the bank for 54
years before retiring. He was a member
of Zion Baptist Church since 1907, where
he was a deacon and Sunday school
teacher. He was also a member of the
Grove City Lodge No. 603 Free and
Accepted Masons, the Valley of New
Castle Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite
and the Syria Temple of Pittsburgh.
He was a past commander of the
American Legion No.393 and was a
member for over 50 years, a former
member of the Slippery Rock School
Board and a World War I Army
veteranof the Signal Core.
Surviving are his wife, at home; two
sons, J. Harold of Butler and Ralph
Book of North Manchester, Ind., two
daughters, Mrs. Clark Knox (Evelyn M.)
Slippery Rock and Mrs. Jack (Jean E.)
Quinn of Elderton, Pa.; 16 grandchil-
dren and 16 great-grandchildren.
Visiting hours will be from 2 to 4 and 7
to 9 p.m. tomorrow in themSmith
Funeral Home, 421
New Castle St. A
service will be conducted at 11 a.m.
Saturday in the funeral home by the
Rev. Keefer of Zion Baptist Church
assisted by Rev.George Schoonmaker,
former pastor of the church.
Internment will be in
Slippery Rock Cemetery.
