Tired of blinking inside courtesy lights, replacing the rubber tips on the door switches, dead batterys, cleaning contacts
on old door switches, expensive switch replacements, then I've got the modern electronic solution for you. For only $165, plus
shipping, you will get a state of the art solid state electronic sensor switch system with no moving parts. This module will
not operate the key buzzer. Most DeLorean owners have already disconnected this anyway. You will need to retain the buzzer
switch if you wish to keep this feature.
Because of the sweeping action of the DeLorean door when it is closing the original door switches are subject to a down
force which over time bends over the rubber tip extensions and also bends the electrical contacts. The electrical contacts
are also exposed to the open atmosphere and therefore oxidize and corrode. The new sensors have NO contact with the door and
are completely sealed. They use a inductive electrical force to sense the door when it is closed and activate solid state circuitry.
All of the components used in the new sensor system are off the shelf components and are easily replaced. The system may also
be restored to using the old switches should you wish to return the car to original condition. This is a Easy Electrical/Mechanical
experience project. You should be able to read an electrical schematic and have some hand tools. Read the Instructions link
to see if this is a project for you.
