The people of FPC take seriously the words of Jesus that as we serve others, we are in service to Him. Service is a vital
part of our ministry, and all members of our church are called to be involved in service to others.
Members of our church prepare and serve meals
at Care Night, a place where a hot meal is served to anyone who comes. We work on Habitat for Humanity projects. We bake for
Manna House where a noontime meal is served. We operate our own food pantry and provide food for anyone who comes. We support
other missions like Anna’s House, Prison Fellowship, and Operation Christmas Child. We are dedicated to serving others
in our world.
We support over 17 missions. For many years,
our church has supported the West Virginia Mission Advocacy and Work Camps Ministry. This ministry serves the rural
poor in West Virginia. There is a caring relationship with residents of this region, and work groups perform needed
repairs to their homes. FPC is a major source of financial support for this mission.
We also support the Schmidt family who serves
in the Wycliffe Bible Translators Mission in Kenya and the Forst family who has served in the New Tribes Mission in the Ivory
Coast.
Our church also runs the Shreffler House, the
former parsonage of our church, which has been dedicated to serving the homeless of Harford County. For several years, the Shreffler House has been operated as a shelter for homeless people. It is one of the few
shelters in the county that can accommodate an entire family.
Each summer, our Senior High Youth Group, Christians
in Service, participate in a mission trip to help those in need. Recent mission trips have been to Minnesota, Ohio, and upstate
New York. As we are involved in mission, we serve
our Lord Jesus.
