Phantom Lake Software

Phantom Lake Software is a miniscule company of one dedicated to writing software for myself. If any product produced by Phantom Lake is potentially useful for others, I will release it with specific conditions. Phantom Lake will assume no liability for the usefulness, functionality or accuracy of any products. At this time all products are freeware. Some, although described here, may never be released to the public. All products currently described have been developed in Visual Basic 6. You may need the VB6 runtime files to use them if they are not already installed on your computer. I have provided a link to a download site for your convenience. Because of limited webspace allowances by my ISP, I have chosen not to post the files for direct download. If you want one of these programs at this time, please e-mail me (dan@phantomlake.net ) and I will find a way to get it to you.

SOFTWARE PRODUCTS

ALMANAC- A simple program I developed over a weekend to provide features for inclusion in KLIMA. It provides almanac-like information such as times of sunrise, sunset, solar transit, moon phase, moonrise, moonset, and other data (see screenshot). This is nearly complete and I expect to make it available sometime in February 2001. I only need to add final configurability features, since most users probably won't be interested in data for Russell, PA.

MIXMASTER is nearly ready for distribution. It is designed for the gardener/horticulturist to make mixing pesticides and other chemical solutions easier. It will take the recommended mixture listed on the label, allow you to specify the quantity you want to mix and provide you with the exact amount of concentrate to use to mix the chemical at the correct concentration. A secondary function is a table of frequently used conversions of weights and measures. The current version is 0.2.11 AVAILABLE SOON If you would like to be notified when it may be downloaded, send a note to me at dan@phantomlake.net.

KLIMA- Greenhouse Climate and Control is designed to operate with the Fascinating Electronics Experimenter board. It provides me with the capability to remotely monitor and control the heat and other functions in my greenhouse from in the house as well as the greenhouse itself. It also monitors the weather; temperature, wind speed and direction, barometric pressure and precipitation and it incorporates some of the Almanac program described above. Graphs of most of the monitored parameters can be displayed and eventually the data will be archived into a database. There will also be security and other safety monitoring functions. If you have the necessary hardware and some technical expertise, I may be persuaded to release this if you believe it can help you and you are willing to provide feedback. If you're interested, let's discuss it.
