to the memory of Harold Wesley Massie. Harold was born December 3, 1923 in Springfield, Clark County, Ohio, the
third son of Fred Levi and Effie Nancy (Brumfield) Massie.He was a member of the 147th Infantry, Oho National Guard at Camp
Shelby, Mississippi, stationed there for 16 months, then at Indian Town Gap, Pennsylvania for 3 months before sailing from
Brooklyn, New York on April 8, 1942 for service in the southwest Pacific. He was killed in action January 30, 1943
at Guadacanal, Soloman Islands, South Pacific and is buried in Ferncliff Cemetery in Springfield, Ohio in the World War
2 Mound.
