CSA Sports Kickoff and Family Fun Day, Saturday April 18th!

Do you have Spring Fever? Clarksburg Sports
Association (CSA) invites your family to join the spring sports teams and the Up-County community
on Saturday, April18th from 10am-2pm at Rocky Hill Middle
School!! This is a FREE event where the CSA spring Baseball, Tennis, Lacrosse
and Track team members will gather with friends & neighbors to kick off the 2009 youth sports season here in the
greater Clarksburg area. Festivities at the event will
include a variety of kids’ games, fun activities, and special guest appearances by the Frederick Keyote and Chick-fil-A
cow! Fire & rescue apparatus from the Clarksburg Fire Department will be there & children can walk-thru the
Fire Safety House to learn safety tips. A parent meeting will be held for currently registered spring sport families
to meet the CSA coaches from 1-2pm. Bring any gently used sports equipment to participate in an equipment exchange providing
families with a resource to pass down their old equipment and look for replacement equipment all in one place. In person
late registrations for spring sports will be taken (based on space availability) and for 12 different summer sports camps
for both boys & girls planned for this summer!
The
Up-County residents are welcome to join in on the fun and excitement as CSA begins its 5th season of youth sports
serving our community! Come early to park & mingle with your neighbors, friends & hometown sports teams
of Clarksburg Sports Association while enjoying the festivities on Saturday April 18th! The rain date for
this event is Sunday April 19th.

Clarksburg 5k Run, 5k Walk & Kids Fun Run

COMMUNITY SPIRIT a WINNER at the 5K RUN & KIDS FUN RUN!!
Rocky Hill PRIDE extended to the Clarksburg community on Saturday, April 19th when a number of Wildcats participated
in the first annual Clarksburg 5K Run/Walk and the
KIDS FUN RUN!! A beautifully sunny spring morning greeted almost 250 enthusiastic runners and volunteers to this inaugural
event and Rocky Hill was well represented by students, staff and RHMS families!
Some of the student runners that were being cheered for included Wildcat 8th graders Austin
Malpass with a time of 21:41 and Connor Miller with a time of 21:40. Congratulations to Connor for placing 3rd
in the 1-19 age category, edging out Austin at the finish
line by one second! RHMS students, Lexie Kambich and Alexa Allen, were also on hand at this early morning 5K race and
displaying their PRIDE by volunteering!
Mr. Whiting and Mr. Hyde had a strong showing in the Clarksburg 5K Run and added to the community spirit
as our sentimental favorites!! Mr. Whiting’s time was an impressive 27:43, while Mr. Hyde demonstrated great P-R-I-D-E
with a final time of 31:40. Prizes were awarded and there was food, music and activities for the kids highlighting the Clarksburg
5K Run/Walk!! Children participating in the Kids Fun Run received a medallion to commemorate this first-time community
event!
Designated as a charity event, the Clarksburg Sports Association (www.CSAsports.org) and the Montgomery County Special Olympics were the beneficiaries of the Clarksburg
5K Run, Walk & KIDS FUN RUN. The Clarksburg 5K race was presented by Cedarbrook Community Church
and sponsored by Newland Communities. Moody Insurance, Chris Dyer Homes, Clarksburg Orthodontics, Healthtrax & many
other sponsors made this a successful 5K and a very memorable time for the community! For a complete listing of sponsors

Clarksburg Sports Association Recognized during Halftime at Clarksburg High School Home Football Game
Culminating
a successful inaugural fall season, the Clarksburg Sports Association (CSA) football, cheer and poms teams will be honored guests during the
halftime program of the last Clarksburg High School (CHS) regular season home football game against Watkins Mill on Friday, November
9th, 6:30pm at CHS!!
It’s that hometown feeling of the community coming together ~ that’s what it’s all about!

The 1st Annual Charity Golf Tournament t o Benefit the Clarksburg Sports Association was held on June 4th,
2007. The event was a huge success thanks to Joe Sabelhaus, Lisa Wolsh and The Sabelhaus team for their effort and support
for CSA and our community!

Thanks to all the families, athletes and guest speakers that came
out to support CSA as we celebrated our first season of basketball and honored our athletes!

Bay Packer) Teacher/Coach, Richard Montgomery HS, Mike Riley, Clarksburg High School Athletic Director and Cliff Elgin Clarksburg

Life is Good Pumpkin Festival - October 21st, 2006 - Clarksburg Town Center
Join Newland Communities, Clarksburg Sports Association and others as we carve 5,000 pumpkins
for charity! All proceeds go to Camp Sunshine and the Children's Inn at NIH.
Clarksburg High School Varsity Basketball Summer Team Sponsorship
