Volunteer Your Time
CSA is currently seeking volunteers in multiple areas including Sports Commissioners, Coaches and Directors.
Commissioners and Coaches are responsible
for the successful implementation of the organizational mission and vision. General
responsibilities consist of the development, implementation, coordination, operation and growth of sport specific programs.
These positions are voluntary but offer an exciting opportunity for close involvement in the development of a comprehensive
youth sports organization.
Commissioners
Commissioners will be responsible
for implementing and direct oversight of the various sports programs working closely with the Association President to insure
self sustaining and long term program success. Commissioners shall know and enforce the rules, regulations and by-laws of the organization
and policies and procedures pertaining to the sport they govern.
Optimally,
Commissioners will have experience and evidence of creating an effective delivery system through a partnership
approach and a minimum of five
years’ business management experience with evidence of:

Effective leadership in complex external environments

Advocacy and communications skills

Politically adept and responsive to political and social change
-
Managing, building and developing high performance teams

Resource planning and allocation

Business planning and development
-
Financial control
Experience of setting the strategic direction for an organization and achieving ownership, credibility and success
through a track record of delivery of high quality results against challenging targets is highly desired.
Commissioner candidates must:

together with a robust knowledge of the organization strategic and business planning processes.

You will
also be involved in building relationships with Clarksburg High School and Rocky Hill Middle School coaches and local organizations
to provide routes of progression for young players as well as soliciting volunteers from the community.

Coaches
CSA is seeking coaches to assume responsibility for the development,
implementation and execution of the CSA sports programs and so for their future
success.
Energetic
and qualified coaches are being sought with experience and competency in multiple relevant areas of sport, who have the drive
and commitment to deliver a comprehensive program and coaching qualities in accordance with the mission and vision of the
CSA. Your primary role as a coach
will be to consistantly model organizational values, providing positive feedback and action plans to young people, encouraging
and enabling them to develop sustaining relationships as athletes through their sport.
Your role will be to take a professional approach
in the planning, preparation, organization and delivery of a specific sport for young people aged 7-16 who live in the greater
Clarksburg area. This
will include coaching for practice, league play and setting up and running external events, such as clinics, to encourage
wider participation and inclusion.
You will also be involved in building relationships with Clarksburg High School and Rocky Hill Middle School
coaches and local organizations to provide routes of progression for young players as well as soliciting volunteers from the
community. The large majority of your work will be on the weekends and in the evening.
Coaching candidates must:
Coaching certification
and first aid training, while not mandatory, is preferred.

Marketing/Communications
Director
A Marketing/Communications Director is sought with experience, competency,
drive and commitment to deliver the Public Affairs and Communication portfolio assuming responsibility for the direction and
strategy and so for its future success. This person will also work closely with the Executive Committee to develop the
organizational strategy.
Works directly with the President, Executive team and volunteers
to set overall organizational policies and priorities. Considers and analyses the implications of proposed actions and decisions
on the whole of the organization.
Duties include:
- assist
the Executive Board in developing the organizations strategic plan, which addresses critical issues in the marketing and communications
area.
- develops and recommends an annual plan for the Marketing and Communications strategy.
- making decisions relative to the selection and utilization of other Marketing and Communications volunteers.
- making internal and external presentations with regards to organizational strategies and activities.
- providing strong, effective and highly visible leadership to the Marketing and Communications team in order to capitalize
on the full potential of this most critical resource. Ensures that all volunteers are stimulated, motivated and guided to
contribute fully to the realization of Clarksburg Sports Association's vision,
mission, goals and objectives. Empowers others to identify innovative approaches to enhance organizational performance.
- Developing a marketing strategy that effectively reflects the organization and educates the public in terms of organizational
expectations and maximizes the organization's fundraising efforts.
- Responsibility for the development and implementation of an annual, strategic, special events calendar that ensures
the efforts, resources and the volunteer time are utilized in a manner that provides the greatest return to the organization.
Ensures all events are planned to capture the attention of the intended audience and the media. Manages the production
of each event ensuring all appropriate sponsorships are achieved and all details are managed in a creative, timely and cost
efficient manner.
- Develops and implements communications and media strategies that successfully deliver information and key messages
to the public.
- Develops
and maintains a strong and productive relationship with both print and electronic media. Ensures the organization is
understood by the media and the media are interested in presenting information to the public in a manner that informs and
educates them on the organization.
Individual must be a strong communicator, have excellent written, presentation, oral communications and interpersonal
skills. Individual must possess strong leadership skills, be able to motivate and influence others. Individual must
be able to think creatively and strategically, have excellent judgment and be able to work in a changing environment.
Marketing Communications Director must:
- have business development and relationship building experience

Business Development
Director
Clarksburg
Sports Association seeks an individual to focus on business and program development of the organization. The core aspect of the role will be to develop new strategies and innovative programs to maximize community
partnerships and opportunity for youth participation. This person will also work
closely with the Executive Committee to develop the organizational strategy.
Duties include:

Build
high quality business relationships with key partners in the community.
-
Identification of new business and marketing
opportunities to meet the strategic requirements of the organization
-
Analyze and identify appropriate data for use
in business development.

Analysis of the existing program and determining
strategies to maximize operational effectiveness.

Create business cases and plans for successful
growth of the organization and its programs.
The
ideal candidate will have experience of partnership development as well as conducting/concluding commercial negotiations.
Good communication skills with the ability to put ideas across effectively with a high level of self-confidence and self-assuredness.
The ability to use your initiative and be pro-active with the ability to self motivate and work well with others.
Business Development Director must:

Campaign Director
The Campaign Director is a senior member of the management team looking at overall strategic developmental
concerns and planning multi-year, multi-faceted approaches to financial resource development. This person will also
work closely with the Executive Committee to develop the organizational strategy.
The primary
role of the Campaign Director will be to develop an overall strategic plan for an integrated fund raising model that supports
the mission of the organization.
Duties include:
- Oversight responsibility
for annual federation campaign including creating long term campaign and marketing plans.
- Develop positive
relationships with current donors and provide stewardship to the donor cultivation process.
- Participate in the
cultivation and solicitation of selected major contributors and campaign leadership.
- Develop and maintain
strong relationships with constituent agencies and other community stakeholders including the identification and implementation
of innovative collaborative fundraising efforts.
- Participate as a
member of the Executive leadership team and provide consultation to the Directors and President and on all campaign
related issues.
- Develop and implement
strategies to identify and incorporate new donors in the campaign to enlarge the donor base.
Optimal Qualifications
and competencies:
- 7-10
years prior experience as a financial professional, with at least the last four years in managerial positions.
- Demonstrated
and recognized accomplishments as a “leader among leaders.”
- Demonstrated
success persuading and influencing groups and individuals to support the organization’s agenda with respect to colleagues,
team members, volunteer leadership and other potential stakeholders.
- Knowledgeable
about and committed to core CSA values and the ability to demonstrate, communicate and represent those to others.
- Demonstrated
success leading and managing other professionals and support volunteers to achieve short and long term goals and competencies
individually and as members of a team.
- Understanding
of the complexity of the volunteer relationships and success managing those relationships in a warm and professional manner.
- Analytical
skills and the ability to problem solve.
- Ability
to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Demonstrated
confidence and success personally soliciting significant major gifts.
- Success
building, cultivating and stewarding new relationships leading to measurable results i.e. identify high capacity donors, increase
in campaign revenue, increase in volunteer participation and partnership.
- Outstanding verbal
and written communication skills and the ability to present at public platforms. Demonstrated
success working collaboratively and cooperatively with others, other departments within the organization and with other community
organizations and entities.
