It's really quite simple. Send an e-mail message addressed to LISTSERV@home.ease.lsoft.com with the following line in the message body (you can put whatever you want in the subject line--LISTSERV ignores that part of the message):SUBSCRIBE MDOsprey "your-full-name"
Replace "your-full-name" with your first and last name, such as Pete Dunne, or, if your name is more complicated, such as John Phillip Sousa, Jr., surround it with double quotes. Within a short period of time you should receive a confirmation note back from the LISTSERV to which you must reply before your subscription is confirmed. Once confirmed you will receive two welcoming messages, one with the specifics about MDOsprey and the other with more technical information about LISTSERV. Save these confirmation messages in case you need to remove your name from the subscription list in the future. The archive of MDOsprey messages is available online. However, you may not participate in MDOsprey nor post messages if you do not subscribe. Note that with the new LISTSERV service, you can subscribe to MDOsprey, set NOMAIL (so your mailbox isn't filled with messages), then read the new archives online. This allows you to use the archives and to post at the same time. |
