I will be providing an explanation and photos that describe just what "polymer gravure" is or "photopolymer gravure".  I used this technique on several of my pieces, and it is a fascinating study in itself.  Probably will put it somewhere on this site in another month.

You will see in some descriptions the term"polymer" or "polymer gravure".  No mystery here...simply a term used for labeling a process that employs ultraviolet sensitive media (film) that is laminated to the copper etching plate.  After optically processing my artwork sandwiched onto the laminated plate and exposed to a 1000 watt metal halide light, a printable image is created.
It is more complex than what I say here, but you get the idea- I use high intensity ultraviolet light to create the printing plate. It is then inked and printed in the conventional manner--one image at a time. By hand.
